RULE 01 / MEADHALL CHRONICLES
ROLEPLAY &
CHARACTER
Guidelines for character creation, in-character conduct, player safety, and keeping roleplay separate from out-of-character conflict.
01
CHARACTER LORE
- All players must post an initial character lore entry including backstory, personality, and appearance. Your character must fit within the lore of the current season.
- Updates to your character's journey are optional, but encouraged.
- Your character only knows information they could realistically have learned in-character. Information from Discord, player lore, or out-of-character conversations is not automatically known by your character.
02
IN-CHARACTER REQUIREMENTS
- Stay in-character while in-game. Minor slip-ups happen, but players should make a reasonable effort to remain in-character during RP.
- Voice chat is optional. Text roleplay is allowed, but you must be able to hear other players.
03
DARK RP
- Dark roleplay is allowed only when all involved players have consented to the scenario.
- Never force another player into dark RP.
04
HARASSMENT & SAFETY
- Stalking, creepy behavior, or sexual harassment is not tolerated, whether in-character or out-of-character.
- Erotic roleplay and sexual assault roleplay are strictly forbidden.
05
BLEEDING
Bleeding occurs when in-character events begin affecting your out-of-character emotions. It can happen to anyone and is not inherently a problem. The important part is recognizing it and addressing it before it turns into real conflict.
- If you think you are bleeding, open a staff ticket. Staff are there to help you work through the situation.
- In-character conflict should not affect your real-life interactions with other players.
- Problems should be addressed through staff tickets rather than public chat.
- Positive or negative interactions toward your character are not automatically directed toward you as a player.
06
MAP MARKERS
- You are not required to keep your map marker enabled.
- Having your marker enabled signals that you are open to roleplay. It does not mean players may appear at your location without an in-character reason.
07
LETTERS & RAVENS
- Players may send in-character letters through the designated Discord channel.
- Only messages sent through the designated letter system are considered in-character. DMs and other Discord channels are not.
